Z + I had been looking forward to flying back to California for awhile now.
Number one reason: weather.
JK!! But really that was a good reason, it was BEAUTIFUL weather outside.
That is literally all we said the first 12 hours we were there!
But we could not have been more excited about our trip.
The flight there felt like it took forever!
But we definitely have some good things to say about delta...on our way to California flights, but not so much our returning flights. But I will get to that.
The first + second flight we got on the plane was ginormous! I do not think I have ever been on a place that size!
We were pretty amazed at the entertainment that they had on this flight, the monitor's in front of us had tons of new movies, tv episodes, games, music. etc. It was pretty awesome.
On our last flight from LAX to SAC it was a pretty lame 1 hr flight lol compared to all of our others that day.
We finally made it! My brother + his girlfriend (now fiance ;] wait wait ill get there) picked us up from the airport.
They took us to sushi + let me tell ya, I think it might be because we live closer to the beach back in FL but the sushi isn't as great over in cali anymore. #sorrynotsorry
After dinner we headed to my best friends house to meet her new baby.
It is definitely super hard to live across the country from your best friend!
Okay it is probably because she is my best friend + I am super biased but baby Ivan is literally thee
C U T E S T
baby I have E V E R seen. I snuggled that little nugget until we left the next day. If any of you have advice on how to cure the disease of babyhunger please let me know.
sufferin over here.
I took some pictures + video for my sweet friend + her family before we left.
You can view them here
My mom arrived on friday morning + I couldnt wait to see her!
We have not seen eachother since October. Much too long.
When we left my best friends house we were headed towards in & out (come on you can NOT go to In & Out while in cali!) well we didn't go. Z + I spotted Costa Vida right at the same time + could not pass it up! That was our favorite place to go in Rexburg + we do not have it anywhere near us here in Florida.
So good.
We were going to a family friend's wedding that night so we were getting ready + I had this idea.
Our hotel happened to be right next to this field that I used to love taking pictures in when I used to live there.
Did not disappoint.
Plus found a $5 bill on the walk back to the hotel
winning.
Our family friends wedding was so amazing. The location was so absolutely beautiful!
Z + I got to dance at our first wedding where we were not the bride + groom, that was so fun :]
We slow danced during the dance when the dj plays the game "last couple dancing"
I am happy to say we were not the first couple to leave the floor!
We have been married for a little over a year and there was some other couples who left before us, made us feel old ;]
The longest couple there had been married for over 40 years!! #marriagegoals
Something that I took away from that dance was that the wife was asked "if you were to give any advice to the newly wed couple what would it be?"
She said, "That love is not just a feeling, it is a commitment."
I don't totally disagree, however I would add that love is both.
If you choose to love, you have the feeling and have chosen that commitment when you said 'I do' for eternity.
My two cents ;]
On Saturday it was Z's birthday! We went to go celebrate with family with a day in san fran!
We wanted to see a few new places, especially with my family being from california + we had never even seen these places before it was a must go.
We went to:
Point Reyes Lighthouse
Point Reyes Shipwreck
Cypress Tree Trail
We then drove the Kirby Cove (which was kind of a let down because of the marine layer, mental note, go in the afternoon next time!)
Drove across the Golden Gate + we were off to Pier 39 for some lunch!
After Pier 39 we were walking + talking when my brother mentioned we should go to the "Painted Ladies"
I thought what a great idea, why didn't I think of that?!
As Z + I were walking up the hill to get a better look at those beautiful ladies, I hear my mom calling my name. As I go down to her, she whispers, "I think you want to see this."
As we start to make our way down, I see my mom go up to my brother + Chelsea to start taking pictures of them.
I though "weird" because those two hate pictures...
Then it hit me. Like a ton of bricks.
Oh. My. Freaking. Goodness.
My brother is about to propose!
I whipped out my camera and snapped it on video mode.
Hey I know they hate pictures, but their future kids might want to see this one day ;]
It is always so funny during proposals. You feel like no one else is watching, like it is only the people in the moment. Even when there is over 100 people around.
That was just the case with us.
Chelsea is crying while nodding + saying "yes"
My mother of course is bawling.
Z + I are cheering in the background.
That is all that moment needs to be.
The people you care about most in that moment.
After this nothing else pretty much mattered lol.
We went to go see the sunset + have dinner with some friends that we have not seen in a really long time.
It was so good to see them.
However, on that drive home everyone was on a high.
A high of a good day
with good people.
