longboard lovin'

this past weekend was just what we needed.
zach + i have traveled a l o t this past year.
we have always been flying or short drives to Utah,
but we have never spent almost twelve hours in the car together.
it was
A W E S O M E
we laughed, rocked out + took some naps + packed our lunches.
when we finally reached california zach was loving every view.
i had almost forgotten what my part of california looks like right before the start of summer
(however this start is in the middle of february for some reason lol)
the night we got there we had some awesome sushi and stayed at my friends afton + parker's
we felt pretty at home, especially with their little puppy bailey
while afton + parker were at their class thursday night zach couldn't help saying over + over
"court we need a puppy, like bad"
haha too bad we will be traveling too much this next year and we can't get one yet! :[
anywaysss we took full advantage of the perfect weather on friday.
we grabbed the long boards + took to the park down the street from their house.
as you can tell by the pictures it was pretty fun
just to have to worry about absolutely nothing + just enjoy those rays :]

Wedding Ready - Part 1

I wanted to do a few lifestyle posts on getting "wedding ready"
the first being fitness.
in high school I loved, l o v e d being at the track + being in the weight room.
as I got older + into college I feel like I got lazier. like wayyyy lazy.
I felt like because I could finally make my own schedule + do what I wanted to do with my time.
that I could work out basically never because of how I was in high school
i know dumb logic lol
but anywayyysssss over the past year I gained my senior 7, if thats even a thing.
so I made it a goal this year to get back to a healthy weight I wanted
along with toned muscles.
so with a soon to be husband that loves his "gettin gains" time with the boys
I decided to get off my lazy butt + get to the gym with the girlfriends
it has been so much fun having friends to go to the gym with
(if you have friends who go to the gym, go with them! it totally helps your motivation)
we have made a little work out routine that fits with our comfort/strength levels
+ the boys make sure we are doing the form correctly so we don't injure ourselves.
so this has been my workout routine for the past few weeks.
now i am totally not saying this workout is for everyone.
everyone has their O W N skill+comfort level
for workouts that are more difficult for you, work up to the number of reps and sets that you can do.
but always try and put in an effort or you will not get anywhere.

my bridesmaid/workout buddy/gorgeous bfff helped me by being in some pictures with me for my workout post :]

monday/friday:

30minutes on the treadmill with incline (use the incline to whatever you are comfortable with)
15 squats either with the bar or dung bell weights
30 leg lowers
35 russian twists
35 single leg glue bridge/hip extension
35 hip raises/butt lifts
50 donkey kicks
50 kick backs

tuesday/thursday:

30minutes on the treadmill with incline
rope machine level 5 for 30 seconds two times and one time on level 6
15 skull crushers 3 sets (works triceps)
15 tricep pull downs 3 sets
15 bicep curls 3 sets

wednesday:

3.0 miles on the treadmill. go at whatever speed you are comfortable with, i like to set an even pace throughout.
same leg/butt+ab workout as monday.

super bowl (aka lots oh food)

^^^ GO HAWKS ^^^

I have always loved throwing parties ever since I was younger.
I love making y u m m y food that everyone will devour in ten seconds flat.
Its pretty awesome.
The fact that now I am practicing being a great wife and hostess ;]
I feel pretty great that my first party went pretty great.
Plus I got some great help from my wonderful bridesmaid c o u r t.
we went to SAMs together to buy the heck out of that store.
wings, chips, queso, pizza, strawberries, oreos + duh my famous nachos of course.
lets just say we made a T O N of food.
and it was delicious.
course had to have da crewww.
we yelled and laughed at the T.V,
especially when we thought MMA came on during the last 30 seconds of the game.
can't help but say I had a good time hosting a Super Bowl party with court tort for everyone:]
GO HAWKS!
